Complaint Follow Ups (9)
byRay in Ontario, July 30, 2010
I purchased the split lid BBQ and unpacked it to find a damaged side burner valve. I called to report this and have a new part set out but wasted over half a day on hold. Even with having all the part code information for the items they sent the wrong part 9 days later...a tank regulator. I called again after a long wait and they sent the wrong valve after a 10 days wait. I called again, waited, the call was passed to a manager who argued that it was the correct part, it's number code, appearence and different shape don't matter, they have sent things twice and don't call back again because they won't send anything out or even talk to me again and hung up . They are a joke.
They put out a horrible product and have even worse customer service. The first thing they say is that it is improper maintenance. They told me it was due to rust that 3 of my 4 burners broke apart. The burners never come in contact with liquids like sauces as they claim, they have covers over them. They rust because they are poorly made. I waited 1:08 that's right 1:08. I got on line in the waiting time and made a call back appt., even though THEN was a good time for me! When the rudest jerk in the world finally picked up the first thing he said was improper maintenance, when I got the call back the first thing she said was improper maintenance. THEY SUCK!!! I just wrote them back after being denied a warranty claim and told them I would make it known what a shitty product and service they have. I see I have lot of company. Lets spread the word go on your local craigslist and bombard it with the facts of this company. I'm tired of the consumer getting suck with poor quality. Money is tight and they need to feel the pain too. Take a little time and post your complaint pass it along

Bought this brand new - Lowe's.
Regulator never worked. Called customer service- wait time 20 minutes.
They will sell me a new regulator - parts plus shipping. Cost would be more than hafl the price of a new grill. Cannot get a replacement locally.
Will never deal with this company again.
I purchased a Perfect Flame BBQ about two years ago from the local Lowes. Ever since I had this grill, it NEVER performed the way all my other grills did. Hot spots, cold spots, and never cooked anything right. I just tied to fire it up and noticed that the flames were all near the back of the grill. I pulled off the grate, and noticed that ALL on the (venturi tubes) where the flames come out, were rotted out and when touched they all fell a part. I just called to see what much they were, and after being on the phone for 18 1/2 minutes, the gentleman was rude. I told him about the wait, and he said, and I quote "well you were lucky it was not 30 to 45 minutes" then proceded to tell me the parts were $40 A PIECE, come on, there are 5 of them!!!!!!
I would never, ever, buy anything from this company and I will never ever call them again. Please come and pick up this piece of crap and get it off my yard. Weber, here I come!!!!

I bought Perfect Flame Tabletop LP Gas Grill from Lowe's and 5 months later the grid fell apart and the heat plate rusted out. No help from Lowe's, no help from bbqtek. I have been searching high and low for anything that will fit on every website that bbqtek mentions. It's like my grill never existed.

I called customer service on 11/18/09 because my burners rusted out in 1+ year and was told I would have to pay $72.00 for replacements. I declined and went to Lowe's and bought universal replacements for $45.00. It took 2 hours to grind off the bolts that hold them in due to deteriated phillips head. Now I find out the burners and lid were recalled on 11/18/09. I again called customer service and was told basically "too bad" I called too early! Now $45.00 and 3 hours later I'm told I can get free replacements. I will never buy a less than "Perfect Flame" again!!!!!
I can buy a replacement universal burner for half the price of shipping and handling on a warranty item. Too bad consumer reports recommended this grill back in the day. I bet they would reconsider if they realized this ripoff.
I was looking at these earlier today and decided to google BBQTEK before buying. Won't be buying from them now. Thanks so much.

Bought a new BBQTek grill from Wal-Mart. The hardware to assemble the grill was not included. There is a slip they put in with the manual that says do not return to store, how could I, everything was removed from the boxes looking for the hardware.
Sent an e-mail to their "customer service" and got no response. So next day called BBQTek toll-free number and was told the parts were on back order so would recieve them in about a month.
