Complaint Follow Ups (9)
Ours didn't even work brand new. Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop is a giant, non-steaming, hunk of crap.
You are all lucky, mine died on the first use. I sent in for repair, on on 6/18, was told today that a replacement product was order on 7/9 today is 8/2 I still do not have it. I was give a number to the corporate office that is only open M-Th 8-5; F 8-2:30 EST. I am at work during those hours. Am I suppose to call long distance during my employers time?
when mine stopped producing steam I disassembled it and took the heating element apart and found it full of this sand like material. I suppose that it was some sort of calcium buildup but we don't have hard water. It might also be some sort of oxide from the metal the heating element is made of. I just put a bit of the powder in vinegar and it did not fizz or bubble so it might not be calcium after all. I guess i'll just clean it out and see if i can still use it. Shame it's such a crappy product.

I had had my shark mop for a total of 28 days, and yes I did put it too the test as my husband and I have just bought a 3 story townhouse. Mine broke @ the neck, where the steam supply goes into the mop head. the customer service rep treated me like an idiot because I couldnt understand but every other word of his broken english.Louis made me feel as if I was in his country needing a class on foreign speech. He informed me that it had been over 30 days & I was responsible for mailing it back for repair and must enclose shipping payment to get it back. It wasnt until I got off the phone and compared invoice to the current date, that I realized Louis was wrong about my having it over 30 days. Obviously he did not know the date either. So far it is still sitting in the closet since prior to its breaking, i had ordered the new shark steam mop, as well as the handheld steamer, which is why Ive stumbled across this review page, because 8 days later they have not arrived. I received an e-mail 5 days ago saying they had been shipped, however, Ive not seen any sign of them. hopefully I can find the tracking# as I dont know what happened to the e-mail. Myself, personally, I like the product, however, i question the confidence that a company has in their product in giving only a 30 day warranty( per cust service rep, Louis) and I am still waiting on my new one to arrive. I say the advertisement is much better then the product itself. I will let yall know how it goes when I finally get the new one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased one online 9 months ago (2009). Plugged it in on Easter for a quick touchup and NO STEAM. I pulled out my warranty booklet, wrote them a check and mailed it to them on April 5, 2010 with a copy of my receipt. Well, apparently they changed their address. Post office attempted 3 times to deliver, euro pro didn't accept forwarded packages and I had to pay $11.00 when it was returned back to me on April 26th!! That's $12 to ship plus their fee, plus another $11!!!!!!!!!! Going to the BBB!

Our Shark Steamer just stopped working after about a year. I took it apart - could not find any burnt wires or a blown fuse. I tried the hot water and salt trick - I was able to get a water flow through, but there is no steam. The heating element has stopped working.
I also purchased this mop in 2008, used it a couple of times and NO STEAM!!! Called Target and Euro-Pro Shark to inquire about exchange policy, they outright refused to stand behind their product. I was also told to return it at my expense including round trip shipping charges. It was returned on a one way ticket back to them. Why would I want a repaired product, when as new it turned out to be such a piece of garbage?

I purchased the Shark Steam Mop in December '08, after reviewing the various steam mops on the market. I was dismayed by how flimsy the product is. I used it the first time and the handle broke at the joint where it completes the pump action. Paid the $9 to ship it back, got another 4 weeks later. All excited to use it and wouldn't you know it, no steam - nothing! Saw that local stores carried it at a much lower price than advertised on TV and the Internet. Bought from local store, found that this one did work. Called Euro-Pro to replace again, outsourced process - very difficult process and very hard to communicate with these people - now they say warranty has expired and will do nothing.
WARNING - don't buy this product.
Oh yes, the one I bought at the local store after using on floors in 3 bathrooms, kitchen, entry, and office wood chair mat for three months died this morning - NO STEAM, nothing AGAIN.
Many have said it before, and I'm happy to repeat it - the Shark Steam Mop is a piece of crap!

Purchased the unit to clean my wood laminate floor. Did much research to make sure it would be safe. They also claim it is safe to use on all hard surface floors with the exception of UNSEALED wood and unsealed tile. I used it 3 times to have it stop working. I was told the same information as the other complaint...send it back for repair along with 9.00. I complained and she waived that fee. However, that same week I looked at my floor and it was all damaged. The joints are all lifted. All my seams show and has a warped effect. I am now in the process of dealing with them about it. I will not give up until this is resolved. They should state that this is NOT for wood laminate flooring! Please don't take the chance.
