I would also like to be added to the class Action Lawsuit against AdvantaBank, Like everyone who posted here similiar action was applied to me as well by advanta my rate jump up from 4.9 to 34.99, saying I was late but the real scoop was this company is headed for trouble and now trying to recoup what ever they can from the consumer by any means that as nice as I can express my feeling.

These guys are the lowest denominator there is. Every experience I have had with them was designed to rip me off or trip me up. They raised my rate to 35% long ago. I will be watching for updates and suits being filed. I'm in!!!
I had the same disaster with these crooks. I waited to make my payment just recently and told them I was considering not paying them one more dime until they lowered my interest rate. They said NO of course. But, just now they have made an offer to lower back to 7.99% if I pay 15% of balance now? It makes me wonder? I just do not trust them! Anyone out there know for sure if this is legitimate or maybe we do not even need to pay them anything anymore?I do not want to bugger up my credit any further than it is now due to these ripoff artists.. This has really been a drain on my business also! And I also paid my bill on time all of the time!
Help!! These crooks keep riping us up... Let do the class ation againg and count with me.

I suspect that we are all getting hit with late fees as well. I would ask that we all check on this and report back. I would expect that this is another scheme to steal more money from all of us. Think about it, if they say your payment is late and assess a $39 fee and then possibley raise your interest rate how many millions this scam will make for them! They claim it took 13 days to go from Las Vegas to Philadelphia. I mailed my payment 8 days prior to the due date which the USPS rep said should only take 3 days; but I have found more like 4 days. So did they reroute my payment to India like they did my "Customer Service" call for processing?
This should be another class action suit!!

Have never encountered such a crass outfilt that breaks the consumer credit law at every turn.
My interest rate has increased also without any prior notification.
Will join any class action lawsuit
My e mail is: brijtoofar@yahoo.com
I want to start another class action against Advanta and join any in progress. EVERYONE check your statements online at Advantabankcorp.com to see if you were falsely enrolled in Credit Protection in April 2009 (like I was) - 1 month before the bank went under in May 2009.
Everyone needs to call the FDIC. They now own the bank due to bankruptcy. No one wants to buy this bank. They have a investigative team looking at all the advanta accounts. The more people complain the better action we hope to see. The class action suit was dismissed in California due to predudice and must be filed in Utah. EVERYONE CALL FDIC. THIS BANK IS STILL AT THE THINGS IT WAS FINED FOR.
Advanta raised my rates like the rest of you. Just today they started offering to reduce rates. They have been so despicable in the past it makes me wonder what's up?

Mike - cash your check ASAP. There won't be any money left over after the bankruptcy even if a class action is field and/or won.
Yes, I too was victimized by Advanta. I opened a small business account with them in May of 2003. As do all banking lenders, they initially provided friendly, helpful service.
I used the card strictly for business purposes and never once was late in my payments to them. As the realty market went under, the card began to accumulate a larger balance and suddenly over the period of months, (and before I realized it) my unpaid interest rate had gone up to 32%.
2 Years ago this month I received notice that the account would be closed even though it was up to date. In October of 09, I received a check for $500 plus which I have not deposited due to the fact that if endorsed it would have released Advanta from any further claims.
I like all the rest, have been grossly victimized by this institution and its predatory practices and I would certainly want to be a part of any Class Action Suit brought against these sleazy thieves. I can be reached at Mike1081@verizon.net
My current interest is 30.74%. I recieved no prior notification from Advanta. When I called to negotiate, I was told there was no negotiating. After years of paying my account in a timely manner, I feel like I'm taking a hit for other people who didn't pay their bills. I will no longer be making payments to Advanta until they can lower my interest.

Advanta raised my interest rate 39% and refuse to discuss why they did it with me.
Whats been going on with this lately? I've been searching on the internet and, of course, I'm another P-O'd person here! Anyone with information please let me know. I think my interest rate is roughly 30%!! How can I get in on this?
I also was astonished by their raise in interest rates. I tried to speak to them and they were so nice! They lowered my 35% interest rate to 29.9%!!! They are thieves. Please let me know how I can participate. Thank you.

I knew I couldn't be the only one that was getting ripped off by the crooks at Advanta Bank. The sad thing is our goverment is letting them get away with it.

Last year about this time Advanta doubled our interest rate without any reason, we were good customers. We called several times to find out why with no answer to the reason for the raise in interest rate.

I want to be added to. I have many of the same complaints. I didnt cash the checks but still have them. I thought that it was funny that they were just sending us small checks when they took so much money.

I HAVE HAD THE SAME SITUATION AS WELL AS A BAIT AND SWITCH THAT TOOK PLACE AS I WAS PREPARED TO ENTER A PAYOFF PROGRAM. PLEASE CONTACT ME SO I MAY BE PART OF THIS CLASS ACTION.

Advanta moved by due date up by two weeks without notice, prompting a late fee. They then switched browser requirements (upgrade, without notice) so I couldn't pay on time electronically the next month. They didn't answer the phone, so I couldn't figure out what was wrong. When I made my second late payment, solely due to their predatory practices, my rates went from 0 to 36 percent. They refused to lower rates, even after repeated phone calls. Because Advanta jacked up my rates, everyone else did too. I am now financially underwater with interest payments, and don't know how I will continue in business. I understand they are going under, and it may be moot, but I don't think their financial officers should have anything left to work with, just like us.
