Packaging for the Jimmy Dean Croissant Sandwiches touts contents as eight sandwiches, and usually it has eight, but last purchase on Tuesday there were only six sandwiches in the box. The box was as-shipped, pristine, untampered, so it was a packaging error by Sara Lee in Downers Grove, Illinois. I e-mailed their "contact us" site for remediation and was promised contact, which never came. Subsequent attempts to make e-mail contact met with "runtime error ... system error" notices on the Sara Lee site. Duck and cover is their game now! I complained to the NJ Consumer Affairs with the Dept of Law, and will make contact attempts on the Sara Lee 800 line. This is for 2 crummy sandwiches! But as with Madoff, rip enough people off for 2 sandwiches and the firm can buy a yacht or two. I can't be the only guy who got gypped.

Sara Lee finally sent a notice saying they were sending a coupon good for replacement of the missing product. They apologized for the error and used the old "these things happen" excuse. True, they do, but when consumers make contact ... and today that means Internet far more than phone ... REPLY! "Oh, the server was in maintenance." Sure.
